Fall is here! The leaves have changed, there is a crisp to the air, and our cups are filled with cinnamin sticks and hot apple cider. It seemed to take forever to arrive this year, but fall is finally here! With it comes these super cute pom pom crafts from Dollar Tree. If you need a project to keep the kids busy on a Saturday afternoon, these kits are the perfect thing. They are colorful, festive, and very cute!
Like many of you, Dollar Tree is one of my go-to places for low-cost, quality craft supplies. During a recent visit, I found these craft kits, which are totally fun and, at $1.25, are an amazing deal. These projects are quick, easy, and great for all ages and abilities.
The kits contain everything needed to finish the craft, minus the glue. Each kit comes with a paper plate, pom-poms, and the felt shapes. There are three kits to choose from: scarecrow, turkey, and jack-o-lantern. These projects could also be made with supplies you have on hand. But, if you make these using the kits, follow the steps below.
Step One: Get the Project Organized
Unpack the items from the packaging, and get the glue. I recommend Elmer’s Glue as it dries quickly and clear.
Step Two: Pom Poms
Glue the pom poms to the plate. Ensure to eliminate any gaps between the pom poms.
Step Three: Organize the felt shapes
Each kit comes with the shapes necessary to make either a scarecrow, turkey, or jack-o-lantern. Do not glue the pieces to the pom poms until the pieces are in place correctly. Then carefully glue each felt shape into place.
Step Four: Allow to Dry
If you have glued the pieced and pom poms down with enough glue, the project will be quite wet. It may take a full day for the project to fully dry.
Step Five: Create Something New
Creativity does not need to stop there. We took our three plates and created a Thanksgiving centerpiece for the table. You could add magnets to the back and add them to the refrigerator to decorate the kitchen. You could staple them together, and strings and a bow to create a hanging decoration. With November being gratitude month, these can be thank-you gifts for teachers, caregivers, etc. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.
